Unless you are a small business owner and is not keen on growing your brand, then you need not have a website… A quality website is important for a business. Why? Because your customers are online! And so should you. People these days search the Internet for businesses, products, services and whatever they want so far they can find it online. The days of relying on phone books and print media alone are long gone. If people need any information on anything, they go to the Internet, “why wait forever when I can get what I what with just a click?!”
When they search for something you offer or specifically for your business, you want to show up- remember, it is not about showing up alone but showing up and showing up good.
A beautifully laid-out website is important because it is often your first impression you give potential customers. First impression matters right? Remember, your website is your paperless office! If they found you through a search or through a link a friend gave them, your website will be your first point of contact with them. Before they even see your store or talk to your staff, they will see your website. You want that first impression to be a good one and it should be.
Well, I have a physical store and it’s doing fine… I don’t think I need a website🤔
Yea, a physical store is unavoidably good but a website will help you establish credibility as a business.
Below are some reasons why having a website for your business might just be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make for your business;
- Increase your Customer base.
As we all know that people are the face, heart and soul of every business. And who are these people we are talking about? Clients! Yes, clients are the soul of businesses. They keep the business moving because they are the reason for your business’ existence. Every business have its own unique objective(s) and one basis is solving problems, that is, meeting the needs of our Clients. Every service a business offers exist as a result of a demand of it(needs) from the clients. So, the more customers a business gets, the more it gets to offer its services and the bigger the business grows. More customers means more money anyways😉😊
So, we most probably get to think of “Customers/Clients” when starting or running a business… How do you get them? How do you keep them?
A website would help you reach our to more clients; potential clients and help keep existing ones. Remember, a website can be accessed from anywhere,so when people search for you or the service you offer, you are most likely to come up in the search results page and then get a chance to convert these online users to Clients/ Customers.
So you see, it is not just only about setting up a website but making sure that it is appealing, welcoming and functional also. First impression matters, right?
- Gaining the trust of your Clients/ Customers
Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships. – STEPHEN R. COVEY
Trust! Trust!! and Trust!!! What is a business without trust? Trust is the reason a client would choose you above every competitor out there. If you cannot your clients (potential and existing) reasons to trust you, your business and the services you provide, then you might have a hard time running the business. But, how can they trust you or your brand if they don’t know you, your products or services well enough to believe in what you have to offer them. Clients wants to be able to trust you as a business with their high hopes, time and money. They want to be able to believe in the quality of your service(s)…
With a website, you will be able to let them know more about you, about the business, your values. You would have an avenue to convince them that you are the best choice for what they are looking out for. You’d give them a chance to be able to see your portfolio/ testimonials, a chance to get information and keep existing customers/clients updated.
Although, having a website as a trust factor nowadays is highly abused because any company can have an online presence. Nonetheless, for many potential customers and in many industries, websites are still an important trust factor for the customer.
- Serves as strong Marketing tool
Your website is the backbone of your business, supporting all of your digital marketing efforts. It is the single most important marketing tool for your business.
A website itself can be used to accomplish many different marketing strategies to help your business grow. The web have a far wider reach than any other form of advertising. While it takes time to build up enough traffic to your website to make a worthwhile impact on your company`s marketing campaign, it costs next to nothing to do so. Your website will be the center of your company`s online presence; through it, you advertise your business around the Web on social networking sites, forums and through pay-per- click advertising programs.
Websites are also available and accessible 24 hours a day, every day of the year. For this reason, your customers and potential customers can visit your site for support or information about new and upcoming products and services whenever it is convenient for them. Your website will act as an invaluable and always-available resource for information which would otherwise only be accessible during your company`s business hours.
- Boost Sales
A website with an online shop (E-commerce) can provide a dramatic boost in sales. E-Commerce breaks the limitation barrier to a certain geographical area your business can service (people can access your online store regardless of where they are) plus it offers speed and convenience for your customers – it is very easy to purchase goods and services over the internet. A very quick process as orders can be made in a relatively short period of time without them (your customers) having to leave the comfort of their homes or offices.
- Increase your Customer base.
One of the great things about the internet is that the size of your company does not really matter. There is no reason that you can`t get your site to rank in Google ahead of a large multinational competitor and funnel off some of their traffic. This is a big part of the reason that a website is even more important for a small business than a big one as it tends to level the playing field. Bottom line is, it is essential for every business to have a website. The more professional your website is, the more advantages you can gain.
